How To Create A Professional Business Account On Instagram?

SHARE

Instagram is undeniably a powerful tool for businesses.

63% of respondents say Instagram allows them to meaningfully connect with brands. About 80% say Instagram helps them research products and ultimately make a purchase decision. All of this means that if you’re not using Instagram to reach new audiences, increase brand awareness, and ultimately increase sales, you may be missing out.

In this article, you will learn how to create an Instagram business account and what benefits it offers. You’ll also learn how to switch between your business account and your account.

Steps create a professional business account on Instagram

Download the Instagram app

To get started, you need to download the Instagram app on your phone or visit the Instagram website.
If you don’t have an Instagram account, you can download the app and click “Create a new account” or open the desktop version (www.Instagram.com) and follow the same steps.

Register

Then fill out the form with your email address (be sure to choose a professional email address), your company name, your username, and your password.

You can also log in via Facebook. Please note that your username should most likely be your company name and your password should adhere to all recommended security guidelines.

Switch from a personal account to a professional account

Now that your profile is set up, it’s time to convert it into a professional account.

  • Go to your Instagram profile and click on the 03 lines in the top right corner
  • Then click on “Settings” in the navigation menu that appears
  • Now click on “Account” on the “Settings” page
  • Finally, click “Switch to Professional Account”

You will then be asked to describe yourself. Here you can identify yourself as an individual creator or company. You can also determine what niche your work falls into.

Once you reach this point, you will see another option to go to your “Creator” account. Creator accounts are aimed at influencers, public figures, and content creators.

If you have a business that sells a product or service, a business account is the right solution.

Complete and personalize your profile

At this point, you’ve already set up your business account, but you’re not done yet. Before you start promoting your social networks, you must complete your profile. To do this, select your profile photo. Your profile photo is usually a variation of your logo so your audience can easily recognize it.

Next, you need to write your bio and provide your company details. This includes your website, opening hours, and contact details. This is the information potential customers are looking for. Therefore, make sure that these are presented clearly and correctly in your profile.

Publish content

Before you can promote your account, it is important that you first post some photos. Maybe you can write an introduction or a welcome message.

When you engage with people and follow them, there is a high chance that they will visit your account. You want to show something that represents who you are as a company.

If you haven’t decided to create a Facebook business account yet, it’s time to link your account here. This is an important step because to use some of Instagram’s business tools, you need a Facebook business page.

To link your account, click on the three lines in the top right corner (like in the first step). Then click on “Settings” and “Business”.

Note: You must be logged in to Facebook to complete this process.

Start following people

Your profile is almost ready for use. Now invite your Facebook followers to follow you on Instagram. It would help if you also started following people to gain momentum. However, make sure you are strategic. Follow pages that make sense for your brand, such as:

  • Affected businesses in your city or state.
  • News sites that provide news about your industry.
  • Influencers in your industry: influencer marketing opportunities.
